Problem Note 55677: Trying to start the SAS® Web Infrastructure Platform Database results in the error "Not the correct host"

Starting the SAS Web Infrastructure Platform Database Server that is part of a shared configuration might result in an error similar to this:

Not the correct host. machine_name.company.com != machine_name

The error might occur if the SAS Web Infrastructure Platform Database Server was already started and someone tries to start it again from a different machine that has a shared configuration.

To ensure that the SAS Web Infrastructure Platform Database Server is started on the correct machine, follow the steps below to copy a new script that starts and stops the database.

  1. Navigate to your WebInfrastructurePlatformDataServer directory in your configuration directory.
  2. Back up the webinfdsvrc.sh file to webinfdsvr.sh.bak.
  3. Remove the webinfdsvrc.sh file.
  4. Copy the webinfdsvrc_shared.sh to webinfdsvr.sh.
