Problem Note 55677: Trying to start the SASĀ® Web Infrastructure Platform Database results in the error "Not the correct host"
Starting the SAS Web Infrastructure Platform Database Server that is part of a shared configuration might result in an error similar to this:
Not the correct host. machine_name.company.com != machine_name
The error might occur if the SAS Web Infrastructure Platform Database Server was already started and someone tries to start it again from a different machine that has a shared configuration.
To ensure that the SAS Web Infrastructure Platform Database Server is started on the correct machine, follow the steps below to copy a new script that starts and stops the database.
- Navigate to your WebInfrastructurePlatformDataServer directory in your configuration directory.
- Back up the webinfdsvrc.sh file to webinfdsvr.sh.bak.
- Remove the webinfdsvrc.sh file.
- Copy the webinfdsvrc_shared.sh to webinfdsvr.sh.
